El mismo abismo The Same Abyss
Dúo with Ondrej Veselý
Ondrej Veselý is a Classical and Contemporary Guitarist & Arranger, Classical Music Teacher, PhD in Music Aesthetics & Semiotics, from Čadca, Slovakia. He is a highly talented, dedicated, multi-faceted musician who has the potential to grow into an incredibly fine musician. He has a genuine desire to learn and explore new areas in music.
We met during my volunteering project, he was my friend and mentor the whole time. Also, incentive me to play and sing more music. After my decision of staying in Slovakia, we started the teaching activities together at English Kids Club Montessori School in Žilina, creating and doing music lessons for kids from Slovakia, China, Korea and other countries.
This was our first attempt of a cover together "Mandolín", a popular Uruguayan song from Gustavo Pena:
After the summer holidays in 2019, we organised and did our first concert as "El mismo abismo" in Déjà Vu Čadca. We played before "Helado Infinito", a band from Argentina and Chile. More than 30 people joined and it was a magical night. We sang and played 5 songs:
- "Porcelain" by Red Hot Chilli Peppers (USA).
- "Vámonos" by Guadalupe Cascardo (ARG).
- "Lo libros de la buena memoria" by Luis Alberto Spinetta (ARG).
- "Mandolín" by Gustavo Pena (URU).
- "Feeling good" by Nina Simone (USA).
After some time apart, we organised and did our second concert as "El mismo abismo" in Hájovňa.
More than 30 people joined again and it ended up to be a beautiful and musically diverse evening.
We sang and played 10 songs:
